Addy is here!

Hear ye, hear ye....

Due in no small part to drool-inducing photos of the lovely Aduke Walker posted by various and sundry HB enablers, when Addy came available by way of a lovely HB member recently there was no question that she would be joining our family. And indeed, she arrived yesterday!

I'm a bit picky about what outfits I like from her collection, but she's already accumulated a satisfactory wardrobe. Ah, but woe is us that the lovely Cape Island dress has been retired. And, boo hiss to AG for neglecting Addy and her collection in recent years.

I'm off to spend a therapeutic hour before bedtime braiding her hair. I really must update my albums sometime soon...

And by the way, would you all please quit posting pictures of that AGOT26? I don't need to see that doll, really, I don't... [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Plus, I like Addy's wardrobe to be as it probably was in her time. Just like with Kirsten...I have about a half dozen outfits for her that I adore, and she's quite happy with those things. Now Lissie and Elizabeth, they're spoilt little rich girls, LOL. And we won't talk about Molly's trunk, which is filled to bursting. But those are DD's girls. [img]redface.gif[/img]

Addy has her striped dress, b-day dress, Meet dress, and will soon be getting her Christmas dress and nightgown. If I can get her Cape Island dress, and then her winter coat et al, and that will probably be it. I have a a OOAK outfit that she'll wear, too. Oh, and *maybe* her patriotic dress if I can ever find it with the proclamation and sash!

I understand the appeal of having dolls have the right amount of outfits for their time period. (Although, you can always pretend they're living through a few years are continually outgrowing dresses, and then growing into them later. [img]wink.gif[/img] )

Now see, I particularly do not like her summer dress. I actually don't like most of the summer dresses for any of the historical dolls, with the exception of Felicity. But there's something about the neckline on Addy's that turns me off. However, I just remembered that I do like her flower-picking/former kite-flying dress, so, uhm, I might get that, LOL. Oh, and her work dress. I love those colors. That's on my wishlist, too. Er, it looks like Addy's wardrobe may be more extensive than I originally planned...

About her school dress...while it looks exceedingly well-made, it just never called to me.

Forgot to mention that Ida Bean is coming to live with Addy, too. A girl needs her doll. [img]wink.gif[/img]

No, you're not missing anything. No photos.

Number one, I never have any success in resizing photos -- which is why I never post sig photos here.

And secondly, I haven't taken any yet (hanging head in shame). See, the girl doesn't have any boots yet! Wait until her blue boots arrive, and we'll do a photo shoot and I'll post an album. Oh, and plus I'm still working on the hair. So, there. [img]tongue.gif[/img]
